The Indore industrial region is witnessing a strong manufacturing upswing, driven largely by rising investment in textile and apparel production. With an industrial land bank spread across eight districts and covering nearly 6,500 hectares, the region has positioned itself as a ready destination for large scale manufacturing expansion. During 2025 alone, land allotments covering 1,285 hectares were granted to 125 industrial units. These projects represent proposed investments of more than Rs 21,000 crore and are expected to generate close to 67,000 jobs, underlining the region growing economic momentum. Textile and apparel units stand out as key contributors, translating land availability directly into capital inflow and employment creation.

Textile and Apparel Take the Lead

Investment interest across the Indore region remains broad based, but textile and apparel manufacturing has clearly emerged as a front running sector. Industry proposals range from large integrated units to mid sized manufacturers supporting the value chain. Officials highlight that this diversity is strengthening industrial resilience and reducing dependence on a single segment. Key drivers behind this trend include:

  • Availability of planned industrial land
  • Strong policy support for textile manufacturing
  • Growing interest from integrated apparel producers
  • Presence of allied industries within close proximity

This balanced mix is helping the region attract both anchor investors and supporting manufacturers, creating a complete ecosystem rather than isolated factories.

PM MITRA Park Strengthens Regional Identity

A major share of upcoming investments is linked to the PM MITRA textile park, which is fast becoming a growth anchor for the region. Large integrated players have already secured land within the park, reinforcing confidence in Indore as a long term textile manufacturing hub. Authorities credit advance land preparation for faster project execution, allowing investors to move from approval to construction with minimal delay. With more proposals under review and additional land parcels set to open soon, Indore trajectory points toward sustained growth. The region is steadily shaping a future where textile and apparel manufacturing drives industrial development, employment, and economic stability
